Youth Group Northwest...Disseminating the Truth through youth-centered events and solid biblical teaching.
With all of the unfulfilling opportunities in the world it is more important than ever that we provide positive, God-focused choices for our youth that are fun and appeal to their specific individual and collective sense of taste. Teen believers face scorn, degradation, and humiliation every day from the secular world within which they live. These young people need opportunities to live their faith without fear and trepidation. They need to know that following Jesus Christ is cool, and fun, and certainly nothing to be ashamed of, despite what they hear in the secular media and the hallways of their schools. We challenge our generation of teens and young adults to stand for truth, and as a result make a difference in their world!
Youth Group Northwest has a heart for these youth, and we strive to provide opportunities for them and for non-believers as well. Currently, we have established relationships with ministries in southern Oregon and nationally renowned Christian artists and have many events and activities in the planning stages. Previously, we have sponsored concerts and other special events, which have included Grammy & Dove nominated Leeland, Phil Wickham, Gayle Erwin, Ben Courson, Issakar, 20-20 Blind, Johannes, Jonny Wright & Soul Inside! It is our desire to bring more concerts and special events to the Oregon Coast, the Rogue Valley, Central Oregon and Northern California! We don’t know where God intends to take this ministry, but we know He has called us to do His work, and we will work hard to stay out of His way and let Him use us as He wills.
As Christians, we often relegate God’s great truths to mere banality. How often do we promise to pray for a brother or sister and fail to follow through. How often do we lightly refer to our weaknesses and laugh as we say “well the Lord has some work to do there,” but then fail to pray and consult His word for the advice and encouragement we need. Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us that “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” In an effort to live this scripture, we hope to develop a network of youth ministries as big and as strong as the Lord would have it to be. It’s time to normalize Christianity again - the world has had its way long enough, and our young people need to know that it’s okay, more than okay, it’s amazing to be a Christian. So, along with planning youth events, we also intend to function as an interactive billboard for events and activities going on in other ministries in the area and throughout Oregon and neighboring states.
Youth Group Northwest believes that your destiny is not a matter of chance, but a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, but a thing to be achieved; and we challenge you to recognize that each and every choice you make will impact your life in some way.
We understand that our generation of students face many unique challenges, temptations, and questions; and we believe God’s Word has the answers to the various issues life presents as well as the promises for all of life’s trials.
We emphasize spiritual authenticity and we welcome teens and young adults in all stages of faith, belief and theological awareness to join us for any of our upcoming events...just as you are!
